Our trainers offer hands-on ribbon splicing, an increasingly in-demand skill. At our school, students learn the FiberNexxt Way™, our comprehensive method of teaching practical skills that you can use on your next fiber job. Our classroom gives you a work-like experience, further preparing you for fiber jobs. This is a non-certification course. Students earn a FiberNexxt Certificate of Completion. Our class offers:​

What You Need for Our Course

No experience is needed for our course. No exam required for this class. Our team provides all needed study materials, equipment, and tools for this course.

What You Learn

We specialize in helping you learn the skills used in splicing inside and outside plant location terminations. Our training covers:

Basic Cable Preparation & Splicing

You'll learn valuable methods, including:

  • Practicing cable preparation.

  • Reviewing single-fiber splicing techniques.

  • Learning ribbon-fiber splicing techniques.

  • Completing fusion splicing exercises.

Basic Connector Identification and Termination

Get a review of these techniques, such as:

  • Identifying types of cables and connectors.

  • Terminating cables and connectors.

  • Learning basic troubleshooting strategies.

  • ​Practicing basic documentation skills.

Practice Performing Signal Continuity Testing

Connect a small network using your skills to:

  • Participate in prep, splicing, and terminating exercises.

  • Operate an OLTS set (VFL, power source, power meter)

  • Perform plant insertion loss testing.

  • Learn documentation best practices.

Class Registration

Standard Fee. $695 for classroom sessions. We provide all necessary materials, tools, equipment, and certification exam preparation.

The last registration day is usually midnight on the Monday before the first day of class. All course fees* include a non-refundable $395 deposit that reserves your seat. 

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have the following:

  • Skills to perform entry-level tasks as an in-house fiber technician or independent contractor

  • Ongoing support by your instructor for your first assignment or contract

 

Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructor-contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.

Our classes fit most schedules. If you don’t see a date that fits your needs, give us a call. Select your course date from the list below and keep it handy for your registration form. 1-on-1 and pay-as-you-go options need to be scheduled with a staff member. Online students should register as early as possible. Online classes are scheduled by request, typically the first two weeks of each month (except in November and December).
