Get Ribbon Splicing Skills in Our Advanced Class

This class starts May 2026.

You know what it takes to be an effective fiber technician. Our qualified instructors can help you advance your career at our fiber school in Marietta, Georgia, near Atlanta. 

We offer the 2-Day SkillBuilder Advanced Splicing, non-certification course. Trainees earn a FiberNexxt Certificate of Completion upon finishing the class. Trainees learn ribbon splicing and mid-entry cable preparation, both of which are in-demand skills.

Using the FiberNexxt Way™, we build on your basic experience by teaching solid fiber theory and strong hands-on skills training. When you leave us, you are ready to work day one.

What You Learn

Our class builds on the skills learned in our SkillBuilder basic courses. You learn to:

 

  • Prepare and splice cables using mid-entry techniques

  • Learn ribbon splicing methods

  • Turn single fibers into 12-count or higher ribbon cables

  • Change ribbon cables into single fibers

  • Install and terminate splitters.

  • Manage a range of enclosures (pedestals, dome, cabinets, and wall/rack mounts).

  • Install a fiber optic network in class.

  • Receive a Certificate of Completion.

Registration 

Standard Classroom Registration. $995​. Requirements for this class is our SkillBuilder Basic Splicing & Testing training. You may also provide proof of attendance.  

Standard Online Registration: The online option is unavailable for this course.

Registration Bundles. Combine our SkillBuilder Basic Splicing & Testing training with a SkillBuilder Advanced course and get the advanced course for half off. You must purchase both classes, and the discount will automatically be applied at checkout.

4-Day SkillBuilder Bundle.  Classroom: $1395; Online: $1095 + $2500 toolkit, total online cost: $3595

​Schedule: Classes are scheduled by request. Please provide three (3) dates, in order of preference, for your CFOS class. We will review your request and contact you to confirm your class date.

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

​​You are ready to work on a fiber job day one! Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. We will also consider you for any available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance to help you succeed.

Fiber Tools and Equipment

Tools and equipment are essential in learning hands-on skills for our classes. We provide all necessary tools and equipment for in classroom students. Below is an example of the tools you will use in class.

CFOT Class Toolkit Components

  • A - Fiber Tech Handtool Set

  • ​B - AI-9 Vevor Splicer with a cleaver, optical power meter, visual fault locator, & splicing tools

  • C - Sample Practice Enclosure (type may vary from class to class)

  • D - Komshine Power Testing Kit: Light source, power meter, visual fault locator (VFL), and testing cables

  • ​F - Ribbon Splicer
