Our SkillBuilder Family of Classes

Our job-readiness program begins with our 3-day basic course. Browse our What you Learn to see what our training covers in the next section. Classes are available weekdays, weekends, and in-class and online. You can take our training in two ways:

  • Individual classes. This option allows you to sign up for training, one class at a time, when it best fits your schedule.

  • Bundled courses. This option lets you take our basic and advanced training in back-to-back sessions, three classes, in one week.

​​Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.

We want to help fit training to your busy schedule and budget. The advanced skills you learn here can help make you an in-demand fiber technician. Our advanced classes are scheduled by request. Please provide three dates in order of preference. We will review your request and call to contact you with a class date. Reminder: SkillBuilder Basic Splicing & Testing training is a prerequisite for this advanced class or submit proof of basic fiber skills training for approval. Here is our latest class information:​

  • Standard Registration Classroom Fee: $895. We provide all necessary equipment and materials for in-person students.

  • Standard Registration Online Fee: $695 + $2900 Testing Toolkit, total online cost: $3595. Since tools are essential for our hands-on experience, online students are responsible for purchasing their own tools and equipment. You may purchase our professional-grade toolkit or purchase tools on your own. If purchasing tools on your own, please ask for our tool checklist to ensure you have all the necessary equipment for your class. See our Advanced Testing Toolkit below.

  • SkillBuilder Bundle Bonus. Combine our 3-Day SkillBuilder with one or both Advanced SkillBuilder courses and save $300 off each advanced course. You must buy all classes for your bundle, and the discount will apply automatically at checkout. This Bundle Special cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions.

    • 5-Day Skillbuilder Bundle (3 classes), SkillBuilder Basic + Both Advanced Skillbuilders. Classroom fee: $2385.

Advanced Testing Training Tools and Equipment

Tools and equipment are key for performing our hands-on lab exercises, in the class or online. Below are examples of the tools used in our advanced testing class. We provide all necessary tools and equipment for in-class students. You leave with practical experience working with the tools, including an OTDR. Online students must purchase tools on their own. Online trainees graduate with an experience similar to classroom students, plus jobsite-ready tools. Whether a classroom or online grad, you're ready to work fiber jobs day one upon graduation.

  • A - Fiber Tech Handtool Set

  • ​B - Core Fusion Splicer with a cleaver, optical power meter, visual fault locator, & splicing tools

  • C - Practice Enclosure

  • D - Power Testing Kit: Light source, power meter, visual fault locator (VFL) and testing cables
