Our Training Prepares You to Work Day One After Graduation

Our company offers the Fiber Optic Association (FOA), 4-Day Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) training, in Marietta, Georgia, near Atlanta. We offer CFOT certification online and in person, on weekdays and weekends. You learn in a comfortable, work-like setting. With our 99.5% pass rate, most students complete our program. You are job-ready, day one after graduationTrainees learn the FiberNexxt Way™, and get the following benefits:

Registration

  • Standard Classroom Fee. $1595

  • Standard Onilne Fee. $1395  + $2500 Tech Toolkit; total online cost, $3895.Tools are essential for gaining hands-on experience. Online students are responsible for purchasing their tools. Students can purchase our toolkit or purchase equipment on their own. If buying tools independently, please request our checklist to ensure you have all necessary equipment. We recommend that online students register as soon as possible and allow time for toolkit delivery. See our tool set here.

  • Early Bird Registration Fee. $1295 classroom. $1095 online + $2500 Tech Toolkit.

The last registration day is usually midnight on the Monday before the first day of class. All course fees* include a non-refundable $395 deposit, which holds your seat. We provide study materials, equipment, and exam preparation for in-classroom participants. What You Need for Our Course

We have minimal requirements, and course features include:​

  • No experience is needed!

  • If you're a classroom student, we provide all the tools and equipment.

  • If you're an online student, purchase our toolkit or buy tools yourself. See our fiber tech toolkit below. Ask about our checklist to ensure your tool purchases meet class requirements. 

What You Learn In Our CFOT Course

We specialize in helping you learn the skills used in splicing and outside plant location termination. Our training covers:

Basic Fiber Optic Theory

Get an overview of how fiber optic work, including:

  • Fiber standards

  • Fiber system components and hardware

  • Fiber terminology

Basic Cable Prep & Splicing

You'll learn valuable methods, including:

  • Terminate cables and connectors, including mechanical connectors.

  • Test cable for insertion loss.

  • Learn basic troubleshooting strategies.

  • ​Practice basic documentation skills.

Install a Basic Fiber Network In-Class

Connect a small network using your skills to:

  • Prep and terminate a simulated location.

  • Conduct an insertion lost test.

  • Complete documentation.

FOA CFOT Certification Exam Preparation

Throughout your training receive session reviews, such as: 

  • Theory and skills reinforcement through frequent quizzes.

  • Receive access to and get study tips for using the FOA online CFOT manual for exam preparation and in-class review sessions.

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have FOA CFOT certification and the skills to perform entry-level tasks as an in-house fiber technician or independent fiber contractor. Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first work assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.

Class Schedule and Registration Deadlines

Our classes fit most schedules. Select your course date from the list below and keep it handy for your registration form. 1-on-1 and pay-as-you-go options need to be scheduled with a staff member. Online students should register as early as possible. Online classes are scheduled by request, typically the first two weeks of each month (except in November and December).
