Fiber Testing Training  Job-Readiness Program Overview

This 1-day course, is a good choice for helping you enter the fiber optic field. Classes are held at we help you learn the basic skills used by fiber techs in our Marietta, Georgia, classrooms near Atlanta. We can help you start a career faster without certification. We offer classes online or in class, on weekdays and weekends. With the FiberNexxt Way™, you'll receive step-by-step training in a work-like setting, including:

  • Connector Termination

  • Basic Testing

Also, we offer SkillBuilder training in two classes, the SkillBuilder Splicing. and SkillBuilder Splicing & Testing courses. Since these are non-certification classes, students earn a Certificate of Completion upon finishing the course. Register for our Skillbuilder Splicing here.

What You Learn From Our Course

You'll learn key skills used currently in the field, including:

  • Testing cable for signal connection.

  • Testing cable for insertion loss.

  • Learning basic troubleshooting techniques.

Class Options

Our classes fit most schedules meeting live in classroom and online, on weekdays and weekends. If you don't see the class date you need, please call us. Select your course from the class schedule and keep it on hand to complete your registration form.

Taking Our Online Courses

Tools are essential for completing hands-on skills training especially for our online classes. You can purchase our toolkit or purchase tools on your own. Please ask for our checklist so that your tool purchases meet class requirements. With our toolkit, you’ll be equipped for your first job on day one. If you order our toolkit, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. To see what’s included in the kit, visit the online toolkit section.

All online students must attend an orientation before the first day of class. This will help you become familiar with our video conferencing tools and confirm you have all required equipment for the class.

Registration

The last registration day is usually midnight, Monday, before the first class day. All course fees include a non-refundable $395 deposit, which holds your seat. Discounts are unavailable for this course. We offer recommendations on how to pay for our course in our Paying for Class section. Pathway to Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certification

We offer a pathway if you're interested in pursuing an FOA certification. Register for a basic certification class within a year of completing your SkillBuilder class. You only need to complete the theory, splicing, and class project/certification exam sessions, which you can complete online or in class. This option cannot be combined with discounts. Call us for details and scheduling.

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have the skills to perform entry-level tasks as an in-house fiber technician or independent contractor. Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. Also, you will also have access to our instructor/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.
