Fiber Cable Splicing Training Overview

In this 1-day course, we teach you the basic skills used by splicers in Marietta, Georgia, near Atlanta. We can help you start a fiber career faster without certification. Our certified trainers offer classes online or in classrooms, on weekdays and weekends. With the FiberNexxt Way™, you'll receive step-by-step training in a work-like setting, including cable preparation and splicing. Our school also offers two additional classes, the SkillBuilder Testing. and SkillBuilder Splicing & Testing courses. Since these are non-certification classes, students receive a Certificate of Completion.

What to Expect After Completing Our Course

Upon completing our course, you should have the skills to perform basic splicing tasks as an independent fiber splicing contractor or in-house splicing technician. Although we cannot guarantee job placement, we will refer you to our partners and former clients for work opportunities. Also, we will consider you for available openings on our projects. You will also have access to our instructors/contractors upon obtaining your first assignment. We're happy to answer questions and provide guidance as much as possible to help you succeed.

Pathway to Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certification

We would love to help you pursue FOA CFOT certification. Register for our CFOT basic certification class within a year of completing your SkillBuilder class and we will apply credits as follows:

  • 2-Day SkillBuilder Splicing & Testing. Receive course credit for Days 2 AND 3 of CFOT training and a $795 savings off the standard course fee. No other discounts may be combined with this option.

  • 1-Day Skillbuilder Splicing. Receive course credit for Day 1 OR Day 2 of CFOT training and a $595 savings off the standard course fee. No other discounts may be combined with this option.

Students wishing to take advantage of this pathway must speak to a FiberNexxt team member. Once approved, students are responsible for paying their fee balance at registration. Also, you will need to complete the theory day, splicing, testing, class project/demonstration, and the CFOT exam, depending on your SkillBuilder program. Sessions may be completed online or in class. Reminder: This option cannot be combined with other discounts. Call us for details.
