Certified Fiber Optic Specialist, Testing
2-Day Advanced Class

Develop advanced skills in splicing or network testing. Graduates of either program earn the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Fiber Optic Specialist (CFOS) certification upon passing the course exam. We prepare you for the FOA exam and help you build hands-on skills with equipment while learning techniques particular to splicing or testing. Participants must take the 4-Day CFOT or 1-Day CFOT prior to attending classes. 

Certified Fiber Optic Specialist in Testing (CFOS/T)

Students train to:

  • Read optical time domain reflectometry (OTDR) equipment

  • Test singlemode and multimode fibers

  • Learn loss budgets

  • Understand measurement errors
